Escarpment Prize for Poetry
The Escarpment Prize is an award for a debut original unpublished or secondary work of Poetry.
Winner of the Escarpment Prize will receive publication by Avalon Park Press,
20 copies of the printed book, and a publication contract.

The Escarpment Prize for Poetry will begin accepting online submissions of book length manuscripts on November 1, 2024 and the final date for submission will be March 1, 2025.
The prize winner will be announced Summer 2025.

Eligibility
We aim to offer a top-tier, ethical book prize that will not just offer publication but also high quality design and step-by-step advising throughout the publishing and distribution process.
To be eligible for the prize, poets cannot have published or have under contract more than one full-length book of poetry in English. This includes publication on Amazon or if the book has an ISBN. Chapbooks of less than 48 pages and individual poems in magazines are acceptable.
Previously self-published books are ineligible for submission for the prize, as are translations and co-authored books.
Poets must write in English.
Entrants to the Escarpment Prize are welcome to submit to other book prizes, however if your manuscript wins another prize, please notify us and withdraw your work.
Manuscripts can include work from previously published literary periodicals, however please include an acknowledgement page if applicable.

Non-Fiction
Fiction
Children’s Books
Self-Help or Tutorials
All entrants are asked to pay a $25 reading fee. All proceeds go towards publication of the winning work and maintenance of Avalon Park Press.
